Modest Mouse

Concert Details

I often wish that my favorite bands will do an “off the bench” kind of tour where they don’t play the hits and instead play the songs they never play live. I’ve seen in interviews that bands have to play the hits or else people would be mad or not show up at all. I get it, but I still want this to happen.

So at this Modest Mouse show, we were an hour and 50 minutes in, three songs deep into the encore, and no radio hits had been played. I was like “Holy shit, they’re gonna do it.” But then they played Float On, which is a great song, don’t get me wrong. But gosh it would have been cool if they were just like, “nah.”

They played a lot of new stuff and did do my fave Tiny Cities Made of Ashes so no complaints here.
