Concert Details
I’ve been so stoked for the return of The Academy Is… and I just love love their new album. Their “20 Years” tour wasn’t stopping in Phoenix (sob) so we hopped on a plane to stay with Clay’s fam in San Diego.
This was the last U.S. stop for the tour and we got some fun treats: Jon Walker joining in for “About A Girl”, a song with Duane Hewins Jr. on drums (their truck driver who filled in when Andy got sick), their debut live performance of “Lost Signals”, and Michael Guy Chislett joining in for “After the Last Midtown Show.”
It was a joy to see them again after all these years. Aging like fine wine, as they say.
Also quite fun to see a show at a new venue. The Observatory is a very cool spot.
